Wow, it has been so long since I posted on my blog! So much has happened in the past few months, my blog and crafting in general has had to be put aside. If you are here reading this I will try not to bore you lol, as its going to be a long post. Well last October my husband Rick got the chance to work up in Onslow (remote WA), doing FIFO (fly in fly out) work, getting really good money and we got all excited thinking we would be able to get our mortgage paid off and all these exciting things, so Rick went up there for a few weeks and they offered him a permanent position, so off he went for the compulsory Full medical and because he had a heart attack when he was 37yrs old he had to see a cardiologist and have a fitness test, well that didn't go so well, they picked up there was a problem so in December Rick had a Angiogram, we thought 'yeah probably just need another stint', WRONG...we were told there were 5 damaged arterys and he would need a 3-5 heart bypass, omg were we in shock. On the 11th February Rick went into theatre, they were able to do a Triple bypass (better then doing 5), and after 24hrs in ICU and 6 days in hospital he was able to come home. Now we are just over 4 months pre-op, and Rick is doing wonderfully, he has been back at a new job, in front of a computer most of the time at the moment for 4 weeks. We saw the cardiologist earlier this week, and the heart still needs to get stronger but by the time we see the cardiologist again in December, hopefully it will be as strong as they want it to be. Rick gave up smoking the day we found out he was to have a bypass, as they have told him smoking was the cause, and if he kept smoking his life span would be not so good! Hopefully now I can get back to doing a bit crafting and get my blog going again. I registered with Centrelink as a carer so I look after some of my grandchildren, Xavier is 18mths and I have him Monday, Wednesday and Friday, his sister Elena 4yrs on Fridays when she not at Kindy and school pick up on those days as well (Kahlani 9yrs and Malia 6yrs), so it helps my daughter as I'am cheaper then day-care and after-school care, and it helps me too, win win. Thank you so much if you stuck with me and read all that lol. Ok lets start posting some creations. I'm still lacking a bit of mojo, so have been keeping it simple and easy, and the KaiserCraft 'Hello Sunshine' 6.5" paper pad and matching Collectables was perfect for that, I love the little Whale so I added him with some dimensional adhesive, added a bit of Kindy Glitz to his back and some buttons as air bubbles, for a bit of added texture I used my Scor-pal to scor some paper, I was quite please how it came out, quite cute I think.
Thanks for popping past. Cheers Sue

Close to my Heart Advent Calender

Love my new Advent Calender, and it was so simple using the Deigned D├ęcor Black Frame (Z1880) from Close to my Heart, and the best thing is, that I can use the frame ALL year around, for memo's photo's, artwork and the list goes on. I made the little bags with a file from my Silhouette, but CTMH has a Cricut Cartridge that cuts little boxes 'Cricut Artiste Collection' (Z1790). The Date Stamps are Magical Days (D1552), I used White Daisy (1385), Ruby (X5927) and Juniper (X5752) Cardstock and the Ruby (Z2170) and Juniper (Z2165) Ink pads, some Silver Pegs from the Reject Shop and some Chocolate Teddies for inside the Bags, a bit of Tinsel and some Elements from the Sparkle and Shine Complements (X7176C) and all ready for Rick and I can argue who's turn it is to take the bag/date down and eat the Santa lol Cheers Sue

Close to my Heart Christmas Tags Card Workshop.

I will let you into a little secret...I hate or should I say 'hated' making Christmas Cards, I have always found them quite a Challenge, but NOT this year, I can honestly say (and not just because I'm an Independent Consultant with Close to my Heart). The Close to my Heart products have just made it so easy, everything is co-ordinated, the Paper the Ink the Washi Tape, love love love it. I got quite This is the 3rd Workshop I have going, this one using Tags, but instead of using the Sparkle and Shine range of papers, I used the Sparkle and Shine Washi pk of 3 (Z1907), I had wondered what all the hype was about with Washi Tape, well, now I know...I love it, and it co-ordinates with all the Inks! I used White Daisy (1385), Ruby (X5927) and Juniper (X5752) Cardstock and the Washi Tape, so easy and then the Stamps I used were from, Trim the Tree (A1149), Santa Claus Holiday (C1567) and Novembers Stamp Set of the month, Scandinavian Wishes (S1310), a bit of Twine and 3-D Foam Dots (1772), I used Juniper mini Pigment Ink from the Whimsy Set (Z2500), for the Tree and Ornament from the Trim the Tree set and embossed it with Clear embossing powder to make it 'pop' and all done, and I love how they look. Cheers Sue

Changing Elements - CTMH

Just a quick post today of another couple of very simple cards. I have again used left overs from the Chantilly Complements Dimensional Elements - X7163C, that I used for the Chantilly Card Workshop, but I changed them a little. For Card one I used one of the Birds from the Elements pack, and just used a Sponge Dauber - Z726 and Black Ink Pad - Z2105, and dabbed the Bird Black, the Twilight Cardstock from the Chantilly Paper Packet, and I used a piece of Twine (was Black and white but I inked this Black too) from the Bakers Twine - Neutral Assortment - Z1701. For card 2, I used Cashmere Card Stock - X5932, love this as it looks like Kraft, with one of the Birds and Border from the Chantilly Elements, simple but cute don't you think! Have a great weekend. Cheers Sue

Cheeky Saturated Canary image...

Hi there, hope you are all well. I have another image from Saturated Canary to share today, love this cheeky girl. She is coloured with Copic's, and I have used DP from Simple Stories - '24 seven', my Doiley and Flowers are from Bizzy Bec's, the pearls are from Prima and I covered a chipboard heart with the DP and added a couple of buttons and twine from my stash, the phrase is from Tim Holtz 'Chichat' pad, and I stitched around the outside, which I love but rarely do, oh and I used a Spellbinders Nestabilitie - 'Labels 4' (from Bizzy Bec's) to mount the image on and some dimensional tape. No sign of the new Granddaughter yet, but you will know when she here, because I will be posting pics of course lol. Cheers Sue

Popcorn the Bear

Wow how long is it since I have posted on my blog.....way to long! So much has been going on, life just gets so busy and though I have been doing some crafting a lot of the time I forget to take pictures, old age, ummm lol. My family is growing still, grandchild number 22 is due in 2 weeks, so exciting, doesn't matter how many you have its always exciting. This will be a girl so we will have 11 granddaughters and 11 grandsons...hows that for keeping it even :) We had a holiday in May to Phuket for 12 days and I was only well for the first 3 days, then I got very sick....and took me weeks to come good when we got home, so need another holiday now hehe. Well enough about me, I have been trying to sell my cards and I'm donating a $1 from every card to HAE Australasia, as some of you will know this is a disease that effects 4 of my children and a number of my grandchildren. So hopefully I will be posting on here more often. I have coloured up this gorgeous Popcorn the Bear image that I got from Bizzy Bec's, with my Copic's, the paper is from my stash and was the last of it, and I can't remember the name :(, I also used my Vintage lace Doohickey Die which I love (also from Bizzy Bec's) I used Glossy Accents on the Balloons, loved how it came out, and sold it straight away which was great. Hope you are all well. Thanks for popping by. Cheers Sue

Flourishes - Poppies & Aussie Blooms

Today I have made a couple of cards using Florishes Stamps, the first one is using the Poppies, I stamped on to X-Press It Blending card, and coloured with my Copic's Poppy R21,R24,R27,R29 Leaves G43,YG67 Background B00 I used the Cut feature on my Silhouette Cameo to cut some extra Poppies and Leaves, some I used to mask and stampt extra Poppies and Leaves and some I coloured and attached with dimensional adhesive, you can't really see in the pictures but it is actually 3D. I inked the edge with Tim Holtz Stormy Sky and and matted it using white and black bazzil, the DP is from my stash and I distressed the edges and inked them then I stamped that with a 'Happy Birthday' stamp, I have not used any other embellishments as thought the Poppies were enough. The other card is an experiment lol, I used the Image from Flourishes -Bloomin Aussie Florals and instead of using Ink I used White embossing Powder on X-Press It Blending card, then colored with my Copic's and then I used my Copic Blending Pen O, to gently blend every thing and it take the colour off of the embossing, found this a very relaxing and easy technique and love the water colour effect, going to try this again for sure :) Keeping it simple I just matted it on to Kraft cardstock. Cheers Sue ,

Party Hardy from Saturated Canary

Hope you are all well, and had a good weekend. Busy day for me today, its my Dad'd birthday. My Wedding Anniversary and our granddaughter Malia is 5 years old today :)I didn't have to make the cards as I have a box of ready made ones lol. But I did make a card for the fun of it, love this image from Saturated Canary, 'Party Hardy' she is gorgeous! I cut her out using the Trace feature on my Silhouette Cameo, love that feature makes things so much easier. The Black Frame around her is also cut with the Silhoutte and I used the Rolled Flowers from the Silhoutte Store to make the Black/White flowers. The Swirls and bling flower in top left are from Bo Bunny, the Red Roses are from Bizzy Bec's, and the Hearts are actually Ceramic and they were white but I coloured them with my Copic's (R29), I got those from Scrappy-go-Lucky. The DP isfrom my stash (Kaisercraft I think). Playing with some Flourish Stamps and the digi file to cut them for the Silhouette so will be back tomorrow with a pic for you. Take care all. Cheers Sue

As you can guess I'm loving these Saturated Canary images, I still love my Magnolia's but love these gals too. Today I have used Nevaeh, again coloured with my Copic's and I have added some Ranger Sickles. The border, swirl and background flower are my Doohickeys from Magnolia that I purchased awhile back from Bizzy Bec's, the flowers are also from Bizzy Bec's, and the DP is from my stash and I can't remember whats its called, but its a 6x6 paper pad., and I used a Kaiser swirl stamps for around the image. 'Anything Goes' for Bizzy Bec Challenge

I have entered this card in Bizzy Bec's Challenge for March, which is 'Anything Goes'. I have made a double fold card using a Magnolia Tilda Image, coloured with my Copic's. the background behind Tilda is also from Magnolia 'Romantic Window', which I left plain except for some stickles as my DP is so busy. The DP is lovely and glittery and is Up Up Away from First Addition, the pearly bits are from Bizzy Bec's on-line store, the lillies are from my stash and the other flowers are all handmade by me using my Silhouette Cameo -rolled Flowers, the border and some swirls, and a brad, also from my stash. The design team over at Bizzy Bec's have some done a great job with theirs, definately inspiring. Cheers Sue

Saturated Canary Image 'Party Hardy

Well thought it was about time I starting posting again in my Spot, it has been very neglected these past few months, and I haven't even had time to visit other blogs or enter Challenges, just don't know where the time is going. A lot has happened during the past few months, a new grandson Xavier who is now 7 weeks. Don't know if I have been missed on here though lol. I have fallen for Saturated Canary Digi images, they are so cute, and with my new Silhouette Cameo it even allows me to cut them out (sometimes lol). Love this 'Party Hardy' image she is so cute and just gorgeous to colour, which I have done with my Copic's, the DP was a perfect match (have forgotten what its called:)

I have a new Grandson arriving next Tuesday 15th January, so excited about him. My daughter Amanda is being induced on Tuesday, and I will be there, with her husband Johnny for the birthm so it will be both exciting and nerve racking at the same time. Amanda and Johhny have 3 girls already and Amanda's births are quite dramatic, and as some of you would know, Amanda also has HAE, so she has the best of care at King Edward Hospital in Perth.... so stay tuned.
